Subatomic Babies questions the act of bringing a baby into the world that sometimes seemed at the brink of annihilation. Anyone born after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were born "under the atom." After visions of apocolypse, the tape dissolves into a series of dreamy evocations of mystical yearning- the gambler plays in candle light over the small cabin in the field. Nature is controlled, reversed, repositioned, and in other ways changed, as if to undo the harm that has already been done.
